A Farmer’s Fickle Spring

After a LONG delay, spring planting is in full swing at our farm this week. While rain in the month of April was much needed, it and the unseasonable chilliness delayed the usual rush of the month. The kids and I loved the fact my husband got to hang out with us that much more. My husband, and scores of other farmers in the area, did not enjoy it as much!

Springtime In Hastings

About three weeks ago, I had the most glorious Monday I could remember having in quite some time. For most of us, it’s hard to imagine that the phrase “glorious Monday” could be anything less than an oxymoron. But every once in a while, something extraordinary happens and reminds us that we don’t have it all that bad.
