We Love Our Grasses

Wow, what beautiful lawns in the greater Adams County area, even under difficult weather conditions. I feel so blessed with a neighbor on one side with an outstanding tall fescue lawn and on the other side one of the best bluegrass lawns. Much investment of time and talents goes into lawn management.

Home Owner

I wouldn’t call myself a home owner. I would call myself someone who lives with a home owner and does some things that a home owner would do. As an adult, I have always lived in apartments, which has suited me just fine because I don’t really know how to fix broken household things and I know next to nothing about plants and gardens and lawns. But that changed in October.

Working Toward my Dream Yarden

Yes. Yarden. I’m not a huge fan of lawn maintenance and I never have been. We struggle to create pristine green blankets out of grass that’s better suited for Kentucky’s climate. And we fight with the plants that grow naturally here, cursing their resilience and calling them weeds.

Carefree Summer Days

Picture your world – relaxing in the hammock, gentle breeze, sun behind the clouds, patches of color from flowerbeds around the yard, lawn just mowed, sprinkler automatically running about 4:30 a.m., butterflies overhead, no storm reports, no mosquitoes,- – - WHAT, NO BUGS!! WAKE UP!! GET REAL. Dreaming is good, reality is probably better. Life just isn’t this easy.
