As part of the art degree program at Hastings College, students, who are art majors, put together a body of work which is the culmination of a year of development and study. As an added step in the student’s artistic experience, the Graham Gallery invites these artists to hang their works in the gallery.

“HC: The Place to Be”
Monday, February 27th, 2012 by Josh Wooster
Following HC’s recent production of “Assassins”, I found myself thinking about the amount of talent at Hastings College. Granted, I still keep in regular contact with many of the talent to which I am referring, but the level of talent across the board can be seen through the variety of sporting events and fine arts activities that HC offers. From track and basketball to plays and recitals, many students excel in multiple areas of activity. It may not be Broadway, or even the Staples Center, but it is what you make it.

Hastings College is nationally recognized as one of the finest liberal arts colleges in the nation. I enrolled as a result of high academic and musical standards, not knowing that I would be involved in so many diverse activities. Now with graduation just months away, I have looked back at my college career only to realize how being over-involved in activities was more of a blessing than a burden.

Hastings: The Good Life (Part 1 – “Is There Anything to Do?”)
Monday, March 7th, 2011 by Josh Wooster
I thought about the forms of entertainment and recreation that we have here in Hastings and came up with the following claim: Without an active pursuit of recreation and an open mind, it’s easy to say that there is nothing to do in Hastings. In actuality, there is a wide variety of entertainment and recreation, especially if you know where to look.
