Zumba
Friday, May 27th, 2011 by Ashley Potrzeba
I get bored with my work-outs very easily, so I looked at the YMCA group fitness schedule and decided to try Zumba. If you don’t know, Zumba is a Latin dance exercise program.

The Morning Commute
Monday, May 9th, 2011 by Megan Arrington
The alarm goes off and you rush through your morning routine: breakfast—check, shower—check, hair/make-up—check, coffee—check, more coffee—check, check. All of these rather necessary morning tasks are done at home, while the largest task of the work day is actually getting to the office; the office that is less than a mile from your house.

Spooks in Spandex
Friday, November 5th, 2010 by Jami Williams
If anyone was in need of a good laugh, they could have keeled over laughing Sunday night at St. Cecelia’s coed volleyball league. My teammates and I decided that Halloween isn’t just a chance for the youngsters to have fun, but that adults can play along too. So in the spirit of Halloween, we all dressed in our best spandex and “totally awesome” clothes from the ‘80’s.

The Yellow Brick Road of Hastings
Friday, April 16th, 2010 by Joey Fox
Now as the weather is finally getting better, people all around Hastings have been getting out and about into the great outdoors after a seemingly endless and brutally cold winter. Something that I enjoy a lot is riding my bicycle. A couple of years ago, Hastings built a very nice bike trail all around the town. Walk this Way
Thursday, March 4th, 2010 by Amy Sandeen
I’m tired of spending my travel time with steel, rubber, ice and snow between the earth and me. I want to feel the steps I take and I want to pay closer attention to the inches, yards, & miles I travel between here and there.

Feel the (Lung) Burn
Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010 by Becky Sullivan
I’ve recently started playing basketball on a women’s pick-up league on Sunday nights. When my good friend first told me about it and asked me if I wanted to play, I believe my initial question was, “Are you out of your mind?” I’m going to reveal my age and throw out some dates, but I had not played a full-court, competitive basketball game since 1996 – yes approximately 14 years ago. And that was in the Whoopers and Hoopers tournament. Well after high school and intramural college regular play.

Winter Running in Nebraska – A Love/Hate Relationship
Friday, February 19th, 2010 by Russanne Erickson
I generally consider myself a runner. I run because I know it’s good for me. I’m also an eater and I have to do something to balance that out. It’s nice to have that time to just sort of hang out in my head or to kick start my morning or to catch up with whomever I’m running with. I also like the high I feel afterwards.
