Grocery Deals (February 16-22)

ThriftyThursStampReducing your grocery budget:
Tip #4: Pricematch.

Did you know most grocery stores will honor advertised prices of their competitors? This not only saves you money, but saves you time. You are able to do all of your grocery shopping at one store, eliminating the hassle of traveling to multiple stores.

First, make sure the store shop at will indeed pricematch. In Hastings, Russ’s IGA, Allen’s and Walmart all pricematch. As you make out your grocery list, mark which items you will be pricematching and from which store flyer. This speeds up the process at the checkout line because cashiers need to check those items. Most importantly, don’t forget to grab the grocery flyers from the paper and take them along.

Finally, Allen’s and Walmart will pricematch Grand Island stores as long as you have a physical copy of the ad. Skagway flyers are sometimes included in the Hastings Tribune. Contact HyVee (308.381.3678) to get on their mailing list and you will receive their ads by mail. Take advantage of their low prices but still shop locally!

Three circulars—Smart Source (SS), Red Plum (RP) and Proctor & Gamble (PG) are available most Saturdays in the Hastings Tribune and other area newspapers. For internet printables (IP), click on the corresponding link. Have other questions regarding my lingo? Click here.

I do my best to match up deals and coupons but obviously I do not do all the deals myself. If you find one does not work—or better yet, find others—please leave a note in the comments section!
