Hobbies

Every week I talk about wellness and a lot of the time it revolves around nutrition and exercise, but there is so much more to wellness than just those two things. One important aspect for me is doing something fun and things I enjoy in my free time. Hobbies are also a great way to get your mind off food when you want to snack if you are trying to lose weight.

Hobbies aren’t limited to anything, whatever you enjoy doing is a hobby. Cooking, a type of exercise, but I think true hobbies shouldn’t always deal with what we think about all the time…diet and exercise. I love basketball, but I don’t participate all of the time and I love to work out but I have many other hobbies that I do to “escape.”

Besides basketball, I love to create things and craft. I like to make cards, scrapbooks, decorations, things for the house and gifts…I just let my mind wander and my creativity flow! One new hobby that I love is spending time on Pinterest…if you have never been to the site I recommend you check it out, it’s pretty cool! It’s a website that has a wide range of pictures of crafts, DIY, food and recipes, ideas for your house, quotes, hair styles, clothes, exercise and nutrition tips and that’s just the tip of the ice berg! I also am learning to play the guitar, I love to read, watch movies, shop and garden.

With all of my hobbies I never get bored! Hobbies are a great way to unwind, de-stress and enjoy yourself! It’s also fun to start new hobbies and branch out to try something new.

What are some hobbies you enjoy? I’d love to hear about them!
