I like WalMart because of the convenience of everything the store has to offer. It is close to my home, abundance of grocery items, deli and department store items.
Allen’s is my favorite grocery store by far! It is always very clean and everything is in perfect order. They carry a much greater variety of brands and items than the other stores in town. Their prices are competitive with other stores, and they have good specials. There are always employees stocking the shelves who are available to help you find an elusive item. And I like the idea of supporting the local owners!
I would have to say Walmart too! I have noticed at some other grocery stores you have to be carefull and check the dates on stuff. I dont know how many times I have gotten home and something has been outdated!
My vote is for Allens! Aside from what you expect to find at a grocery store, the employees are by far the friendliest and most helpful group of people I’ve ever encountered at a grocery store. Do these people ever take breaks? You can always find them in the aisles willing to be interrupted and help! The checkers, too, are friendly and engaging. It’s the kind of service, variety, and value you expect from a locally-owned store. Thank you, Allens. You are truly a SUPER STORE!
I love Russ’s. The employees are friendly and knowledgeable, and the prices are good, especially the store brands. Russ’s meat is so good! And I want to give a shoutout to store brands, by the way….buying those can save a lot of money, even when figuring in coupons for national brands. I often stock up on their non-perishable specials to donate to the food pantry.
Allen’s by far! Clean and logically organized, fantastic selection with competitive prices, 2 cents off competitors’ advertised prices, light and bright, wide aisles, centrally located and, most of all, everyone from the manager to the stockers are friendly and eager to help.
I do most of my shopping at Walmart. Mostly because they accept internet coupons and will price match (even Grand Island stores). I find Russ’s location very convenient, although I do hate the busy parking lot. I love Allen’s. It is very clean and has a large variety of products. I just wish they accepted internet coupons. Finally, Sunmart is great for us couponers — they double couples (valued up to $0.99). I wish the other grocery stores would follow suit and offer double coupon days.
Oh, and don’t forget Walgreens. I purchase a lot of toiletry items there. You can get cheap, if not free, products if you utilize their Register Rewards program.
I really like Russ’s. I think that everyone who works there are very nice. They are always willing to help you find stuff. They also still bag, and carry out your groceries. My kids love getting the free cookies and the kids club, it makes them feel special. The produce guys are also very helpful in helping you find ripe produce.
My vote is for Allen’s by a large margin. I can find even hard to find items there. We are gluten and lactose intolerant at our house and they carry gluten and lactose free products. The store is always clean and is well-organized, unlike some of the others in town. I also like their store brand much better than any other store brands. They have competitive prices too. Even if something costs a little more (which doesn’t often happen), I buy it there, since my time and gas are also worth something. The staff is friendly and helpful at all times and I have never had to wait in line to go through the check-outs. We take our own canvas bags for carrying things home and the checkers even give me the 5 cent credit for bringing those. I like the idea of supporting a local business too.
