  1. Toss up between Celebration of Lights and Kool-Aid Days. Lights makes me feel like part of my community. It’s crowded and hard to move around, but you can’t help but smile because of the festive atmosphere. And Eileen’s Cookies for all!!

Same with Kool-Aid Days. Hotter and possibly rainy, but you have to love the World’s Largest Kool-Aid stand and how everybody takes part!!

  2. As a alumni of Hastings College, I always liked the Christmas service where they sing carols, read the Christmas stories / verses and light the campus. Something about a packed Chapel, candles and the choir singing.

  3. Celebration of Lights wins hand up! I love seeing the faces of the kids ages 0-80 when Santa steps on the stage and he and the Kool Aid Man do the official countdown for the lighting. Who can top this? Thank you downtown for letting us be part of this event.

  4. Okay, this isn’t really an event, but I always look forward to Fisher Fountain being turned on. It means winter is over!
