  1. Hastings has a lot of great parks. Heartwell Park will always be a favorite because it’s the first park I was aware of as a Hastings College student and it’s was always so attractive. Chautauqua is the favorite for my kids because they love the playground equipment and the fact it’s close to the water park.

  2. Hastings is fortunate to have so many great parks. I have to say that Heartwell is probably my favorite because of childhood memories of wading in the creek, skating on the lake (now that was a long time ago) and catching crawdads. My grandkids love Brickyard…they can run and play forever out there!

  3. Oh, I forgot about Brickyard. That’s a great park, too!

  4. I have to vote for Heartwell Park. I grew up near there and spent many hours swimming in the baby pool. It was huge then and I would dive down to the bottom in the middle of it all and hide from my mom when she was ready to leave. When I got older my sister and I would walk there and find snails and skinks in the creek. We would put them in a bucket, bring them home and ultimately forget about them until my mom would ask about the smell in the garage! When I started dating in High School it was a great place to sit, watch the ducks and enjoy the evening with ice cream from Goodrich Dairy. When I went to Hastings College we would walk around the park and discuss the hot topics of the day. I have taken my kids there to play, and stopped to eat a quick lunch during the work week when it is just too nice to be inside. I didn’t realize how much time I have spent at Heartwell until now. Yea, my vote is Heartwell.

  5. My new favorite is Central Park in downtown Hastings. Weekend movies in the summer, concerts on Thursday nights, great landscaping and even a fountain. Great place for lunch or just hang out!
