Big G, of course! I appreciate their helpful staff so much. You can buy anything from one bolt on up to major items, which isn’t true of the other big chain hardware store in town. And, as I always say, I like to support local business owners!
I’m a Menards-aholic. Sometimes I just find myself there wandering the halls. Great savings and good quality merchandise make me a happy man.

Big G, especially since the August storm a few years ago. Like an idiot, I’d been driving in questionable weather, and when I heard the sirens start, we tore into the nearest (Big G’s) lot. There stood their manager at the door, holding it open so my two small daughters and I could run in (screaming and crying on the daughters’ part) DURING A TORNADO WARNING. That’s customer service!
I like going to Big G the staff and the Foote family is the best in town. The popcorn on Fri-Sun is a plus. THe only problem is the prices. I.E. Went to Ace and found a padlock for 13.99 and purchased all they had (2 in-stock) and still needed two more. We then went to Menards and the same lock was $6.99. I can understand profit margins but wow.
Big G. They are wonderful at helping you find exactly what you need. Sometimes the staff will even explain how to use whatever it is you are buying!
Big G Ace has the best customer service there is. I can walk in with something I need in my hand and I will have help finding it with in a couple of minutes. The community support they provide is excellent. You just can’t get their kind of vibe from a large chain store.
Big G… They have what you need and if they don’t they will get it for you, period. The employees know their products and know how they work, a big plus over the “big box” stores.
