MNTR

I’d like to use my blog this week to talk about and promote a very cool event in Hastings. It’s the Mid-Summer Nights Trail Run, this is the second annual year and will be held Saturday, July 14, 2012 at dusk. The race is ran or walked through four miles of trails and countryside at Prairie Lake Recreation Area by the light of the moon and the illumination of the participants headlamps. This night time event is a unique challenge for runners of all abilities!

The race is $30 (increased to $40 after June 26) and includes an awesome Dri-Fit T-shirt. MNTR is a USATF sanctioned race with chip timing. There is a post-party following the race that includes music, refreshments, raffle drawings and an awards ceremony.

Last year there were 154 participants from 41 cities and 8 states.

This year’s sponsors are:

Geneva State Bank

Hastings Orthopedics & Sports Medicine

Energy Pioneer Solutions

Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare

Road ID

GU Energy Labs

Proceeds will be given to the Little Blue Natural Resource District and towards the expansion of the Pioneer Spirit Trail.
