Hastings Rocks

Do you know about hastingslivemusic.com? Hastings has a small-town feel, but we’re right up there with the big cities when it comes to opportunities to hear live music. No matter the time of year, you can find audiences enjoying classical strings to classic rock, all over town. And this website is where you find all the info.

Huge kudos to the Adams County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau for creating this website as a resource for area live music. Did you know there are opportunities to hear more than 20 different live music groups in June and July alone? That’s a lot of music. And the information about those concerts and others is all in one place at hastingslivemusic.com.

I know this sounds like a promotional spot for the website, and I guess it is. I’m just really excited about this hub of information. It takes a great deal of initiative, communication, and diligent upkeep for the CVB to create and maintain this site, and it is a hugely valuable asset to our community.

Tourists looking for things to do will find this site, see the listings, and choose Hastings as a place to visit. We do things right in this community, so those visitors will have a great experience while they are here. They’ll talk up our town, they’ll check back for more reasons to visit, they’ll tell their friends, and our community will just get stronger… The benefits of this website are exponential. Just watch.

I lived in Minneapolis/St. Paul for years. That community is well known as a cultural hub of the Upper Midwest. It’s possible to find live music of all kinds at any time all across that community, too. In the metropolis of a million people, though, it was difficult to actually get to the music. Between entry fees, cover charges, and public transportation or parking costs, it was a rare treat when I felt I could afford to hear the music.

We are so fortunate here that the music is extremely accessible and affordable. …plus it’s high-quality entertainment! Maybe we take for granted that there will be great music at Fairfest and Kool-Aid Days and the Flatwater Music Festival. Perhaps we forget how impressive it is that The Listening Room has been bringing award-winning world-renowned musicians to Hastings for more than twenty years. Our schools, Hastings Symphony, Downtown Hastings, and many, many local businesses offer outstanding concerts all the time. Music, arts, and culture are thriving in our community, and now it’s even easier to find where it’s happening.

Check out hastingslivemusic.com. I’ll see you where there’s live music this summer!
