Fairfest 2012

We are closing in on one of my favorite times of the year in Hastings….Adams Country Fairfest 2012! This year Fairfest kicks off on Wednesday, July 18 and goes through Sunday, July 22. There are so many things go see and do at the fair, you have the midway with rides and enough fair food to guarantee you getting sick on all of those fun rides…maybe that’s just me :) . There are all the 4-H exhibits and competitions to take in, great vendors, the demo derby on Sunday and of course all of the concerts!

The concerts are my favorite part of Fairfest. The Fairfest board does a great job bringing in big name country stars, this year the lineup includes Ronnie Milsap on Wednesday, Justin Moore on Thursday, Jake Owen on Friday and Craig Morgan on Saturday. The music and concerts are great but I think what I love most is it’s a time when all of my closest friends get together for a week of fun! We have been hitting up the concerts together for seven years now and we always have a blast! There’s nothing like a cold beer on a steamy Nebraska night surrounded by your bust buds and listening to some awesome tunes! I’m getting excited writing this blog! After the concerts, the place to hang out….if your of age of course…is the beer garden. There is more live music from some of the best local bands and you’re always sure to run into an old friend!

There really is something for the whole family at the Adams County Fairfest! You still have time to get your tickets to all of the grandstand events, or buy them the night of the concerts. Get out and support our local 4-H clubs and the Adams County Ag Society who work so hard throughout the year to give us a week of awesome entertainment! I hope you take part in this year’s Fairfest, I promise you will have a blast…and if you want to come say hi….you’ll know where to find me ;o)
