Thursday, May 17th, 2012 by Jake Fowler
In 2011, I wrote about semester one tests at Adams Central, and it was a fairly distasteful blog post. Well, I’m going to be even more pessimistic this time. How can I loathe (that loathe with an ‘e’) something more than the first round of semester tests? That’s a good question.

Vandalism at the Park
Tuesday, May 15th, 2012 by Jill Kimle
What is the deal with vandalism, destruction of other people’s property, and general disrespect for what’s not yours??? I don’t get it. And now that I have a family, I really don’t appreciate having to explain to my young children what vandalism is.

Talk is Cheap
Friday, May 4th, 2012 by Jake Fowler
This past Sunday, my little sister was officially confirmed into the First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hastings. While the importance of someone’s admission of faith to the church is hard to beat, the sermon by our Senior Pastor, Joel Remmers, will be what I remember most. It was a sermon with the underlying message that is often considered cliché and simple: “Talk is cheap”.

To the Strong Women of Hastings
Wednesday, May 2nd, 2012 by Amy Sandeen
In Hastings, I am so fortunate to work, play, and learn with generations of strong women, present and future. Much of the most effective, the most organized, and the most fun collaborative work I do at Prairie Loft is done with programs run by fearless, creative women.

Supporting Causes
Friday, April 27th, 2012 by Judy Sandeen
For many years, we have supported several causes dear to our hearts through financial support to the extent that’s possible for us. Recently, I’ve come to the realization that having done so has been counterproductive to another cause we support, which is conservation of the earth and its resources.

A Friendly Wave
Thursday, April 5th, 2012 by Jill Kimle
We’ve all heard that it takes a village to raise a child. If that is the case, then we adults need to rise to the occasion and add another lesson when it comes to teaching kids about simple friendliness and pleasantries.

Hello, $5 gas. So long, economic recovery.
Saturday, March 17th, 2012 by The Masked Blogger
Here we go again. Unrest in the Middle East sends gas prices through the roof. And an already wobbly economy braces itself for yet another haymaker.

How’s Your Health?
Thursday, March 1st, 2012 by Jill Kimle
I’m sure we’ve all had complaints in one way or another about our local health care. From the initial call to schedule an appointment to the length of time in the waiting room to the doctor’s bedside manner, we’ve all been frustrated at some point. It comes with the territory. But after this past month, I am still grateful for the “small town” atmosphere that is generally found with our providers.
