Semester Tests – Round 2

Thursday, May 17th, 2012 by

In 2011, I wrote about semester one tests at Adams Central, and it was a fairly distasteful blog post. Well, I’m going to be even more pessimistic this time. How can I loathe (that loathe with an ‘e’) something more than the first round of semester tests? That’s a good question.

Vandalism at the Park

Tuesday, May 15th, 2012 by

What is the deal with vandalism, destruction of other people’s property, and general disrespect for what’s not yours??? I don’t get it. And now that I have a family, I really don’t appreciate having to explain to my young children what vandalism is.

Talk is Cheap

Friday, May 4th, 2012 by

This past Sunday, my little sister was officially confirmed into the First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hastings. While the importance of someone’s admission of faith to the church is hard to beat, the sermon by our Senior Pastor, Joel Remmers, will be what I remember most. A Friendly Wave

Thursday, April 5th, 2012 by

We’ve all heard that it takes a village to raise a child. If that is the case, then we adults need to rise to the occasion and add another lesson when it comes to teaching kids about simple friendliness and pleasantries.

Hello, $5 gas. So long, economic recovery.

Saturday, March 17th, 2012 by

Here we go again. Unrest in the Middle East sends gas prices through the roof. And an already wobbly economy braces itself for yet another haymaker.

How’s Your Health?

Thursday, March 1st, 2012 by

I’m sure we’ve all had complaints in one way or another about our local health care. From the initial call to schedule an appointment to the length of time in the waiting room to the doctor’s bedside manner, we’ve all been frustrated at some point. It comes with the territory. But after this past month, I am still grateful for the “small town” atmosphere that is generally found with our providers.
