Friday, June 25th, 2010 by Russanne Erickson
I talk about my cats like they are people. I am probably one four legged friend short of being a cat lady, as some of my non-cat friends have pointed out, but I’m okay with that. I got my cats from Heartland Pet Connection last July when they were having a kitty sale.

Point and Shoot
Friday, June 18th, 2010 by Scott Miller
Growing up I was the subject of many photographic outings. My father took more pictures than anyone I knew. I may not find the same things interesting as he does/did but I definitely have a tick that makes want to take pictures of some of the most obscure and random things.

Softball Season Has Arrived in Hastings
Tuesday, June 1st, 2010 by Andy Herrmann
It’s a glamorous life, and someone has to lead it. That’s the thought that ran through my head the other night as I scurried through a fierce wind and 40-degree weather while working at the Bill Smith Softball Complex concession stand.

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010 by Scott Miller
We drive past these things every week. Normally we don’t think twice about it, we just drive past and continue on our way. The problem is that we miss out on some of the best items to be had for free or for little money. I am talking about the treasures that people leave on the side of the curb.

The Hastings Public Library is Super Rad!
Friday, April 23rd, 2010 by Russanne Erickson
Books are amazing. The day after I moved here – literally – I went to the library to get my library card. I didn’t have anything with my address on it, so I had to have my landlord type up a letter saying I did indeed live at the Chateau. The library lets you read books for FREE!

Springtime In Hastings
Monday, April 19th, 2010 by Andy Herrmann
About three weeks ago, I had the most glorious Monday I could remember having in quite some time. For most of us, it’s hard to imagine that the phrase “glorious Monday” could be anything less than an oxymoron. But every once in a while, something extraordinary happens and reminds us that we don’t have it all that bad.
