Blizzard brings new perspective on the Holidays

How Safe Is It in Hastings?

Hastings is a community that when asked about, nearly every resident will remark “it’s a nice, safe town—a great place to raise your family.” Several weeks ago a concrete boulder crashed through the secure, snow globe life I had been living here…literally.

Wingin’ It at Taylor’s

My mother always told me that it’s rude to lick your fingers in public. I resisted the urge to put my fingers in my mouth, instead wiping my messy hands politely on my napkin and went on with my meal. A few of these good eating habits were tossed aside, however, on one Thursday night last February when one of my friends invited me to Wing Night at Taylor’s Steak House (on North Kansas Avenue) here in Hastings.

Christmas is More Than Just Gifts
