The first time I played bingo was about a year and a half ago. I took my boyfriend on a surprise date night. We went out to dinner and then headed to the VFW for Friday night bingo. It had to be a surprise because he never would have agreed to go had he known the plan. We had a blast. The regulars were so helpful and everyone was very welcoming.

The Zen of Bicycling
Monday, March 15th, 2010 by Scott Miller
If it wasn’t for the mid-nineteenth century I may not be the person I am today. Why do I say that, you ask? Well, that is when the bicycle was said to have been invented, though there is some controversy surrounding the actual date–but that’s a whole other story. The bicycle has been a source of stories throughout my life and so the journey begins.

A Friendly Community
Monday, March 8th, 2010 by Kaleena & Matt Fong
I am certain that no one will argue with me when I say, Matt is a very friendly guy. It is not out of the ordinary to say that about someone, but I want to make sure you fully understand exactly how friendly he really is, because I sometimes struggle to understand it. We have this conversation in the car often…

2009-2010 Swim Season
Friday, March 5th, 2010 by Kelli Poplau
If you watched the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, you probably know that Michael Phelps out-touched Milorad Cavic by 0.01 seconds in the 100 meter butterfly. I remember watching this race and thinking that nothing in my own life would ever be dictated by a mere fraction of a second. Oh boy, was I ever wrong.

Birthday’s ARE a Big Deal!
Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010 by Jill Kimle
March is a big month in house. Sort of. My husband and I have birthdays March 1 and March 15, respectively. It was only about 5 years ago when our birthdays became not-such-a-big-deal to us, and I never thought that would happen. It’s not that either of us dreads the upcoming birthday–it’s just not as important as it used to be. I guess it’s something that happens as we get older and priorities shift, especially when you have a young family.

Be A Ripple
Friday, February 26th, 2010 by Kristi Weeks
Recently these words came to mind as I was attending a conference; passionate, knowledgeable, progressive, generational, excitement, stewards. I even jotted them down about a month ago while listening to a presentation.

Is Facebook running our lives?
Thursday, February 4th, 2010 by Sheldon Howard
I think it is pretty safe to say that most teens today have a Facebook account. Now, I don’t think there is anything wrong with having an account. It’s just that most people use it so often and make poor decisions with it that it becomes, in a way, unhealthy.

A Stitch in Time
Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010 by Denise Howie
Tonight I am working on a very large sewing project. But do not let me lead you to believe I am a sewer! I am an “I can make it last until the next time we go to Grandma’s house” sewer. This particular project is Monkey #2’s blankie.
