Monday, May 7th, 2012 by Jack Sandeen
Last week I planted several different “edible” flowers in my garden, which still seems to surprise those who’ve never tasted a Nasturtium, so I thought I might write something about it.

“Eatin’ Good in the Neighborhood”
Monday, April 23rd, 2012 by Josh Wooster
One of the battles that Hastings and its citizens seem to fight is the lack of dining options. While I do concede that Bullseye’s, Kitty’s, Murphy’s, and Rivals have tasty and filling menu options, they all seem to fall under similar dining categories. What’s more is that Hastings has quite the overabundance of restaurants in similar categories: Sports bars, fast food, Chinese and Mexican.

Do The Brew
Tuesday, April 10th, 2012 by Josh Wooster
The premise for Do The Brew is simple: Try multiple different craft beers from around the region. My tie-in to March Madness withdrawals is…to create a bracket in order to find your favorite beer at the event

The Power of Proper Nutrition
Tuesday, March 27th, 2012 by Amanda McKenzie
Eight days ago I decided it was time to change my diet once and for all. In the past I would eat healthy for a few days and then be so hungry that I’d reach for the quickest most satisfying snack. Then I’d be back to my old habits of eating more snack food then a real meal.

Your License is Revoked!
Monday, December 12th, 2011 by Becky Sullivan
This year, as a representative of the Office of Healthy Living, I am officially revoking your license to eat! Without your license, you will be unable to fill your plate more than once at the holiday party, make more than one trip per day to the office goodie trough or sit like a bump on the couch because if you got up to excercise, someone ELSE in the family would get to eat the homemade chocolate candy the neighbor brought over.

Hastings Dining Dilemma
Friday, December 9th, 2011 by Pat McCoy
I have always lauded Hastings for the LACK of chain restaurants. We have the fast food explosion, but when it comes to dining, the locally owned restaurant reigns in Hastings – that is not such a bad thing. I cannot understand when people travel, why would you go to a chain restaurant when you can do this anytime?

Applebee’s in Hastings: Mission Accomplished?
Thursday, December 8th, 2011 by The Masked Blogger
Congratulations, Hastings. You finally got your Applebee’s. But remember the inimitable GW on the deck of the aircraft carrier proudly declaring “Mission Accomplished.” We all know how that turned out.
