Activity in Heartwell Park has been fascinating lately with the stop and start stutter of spring’s arrival. There were consecutive days in March when I’m convinced that the same park visitors alternated between ice fishing and picnicking – the weather was that contradictory. That’s the allure of this park. I doubt that a day goes by without someone enjoying the beauty of the place, no matter the weather.

Stretching my neck, I bent my head back and immediately smiled to see a Great Blue Heron flying against the brilliant blue. From that moment on, I was fine. I looked back down and realized I was nearly done, with just a few boards left to paint. And I stopped thinking about paint and started thinking about perspective.
