Master Gardener program helps you understand “green”

It’s that time again to begin thinking Spring. I just completed my application to be a MASTER GARDENER for the University of NE Extension in Adams County for 2010. This will be my 6th year in the program which includes both a commitment to my education and to volunteerism.

Hold the Plastic, Please

Picture a plastic water bottle one-quarter full of oil. That’s about how much petroleum it took to make that one bottle. Not to mention the gasoline it took to transport that water from the plant to the distribution center to the grocery store to your home.

Is Facebook running our lives?

I think it is pretty safe to say that most teens today have a Facebook account. Now, I don’t think there is anything wrong with having an account. It’s just that most people use it so often and make poor decisions with it that it becomes, in a way, unhealthy.
