Black Friday 2009 (Part 2 of 2)

Congratulations. You’ve just spent hours outside of your favorite retail store in the cold in anticipation of scoring some great Black Friday deals. At this point, there is a good chance that you may not be able to feel your fingers. I promise that the blood will get flowing again once those doors open. Experience has taught me a few lessons on how to manage in the in-store shopping madness.

Black Friday 2009 (Part 1 of 2)

I admit it. I’m not someone who enjoys shopping. I do, however, love finding deals. I don’t enter a store to browse or go in search of what I simply can’t live without. I enter stores with one goal: to find bargains. For people like me, the upcoming Black Friday is the most wonderful day of the year. Lessons of Home Ownership

We went into the weekend with a very simple home improvement project for Saturday morning in mind. We soon learned Lesson of Homeownership #1: Nothing is ever as easy as it seems. We planned to spend 4 hours and less than $40 to paint the ceiling in our upstairs bathroom. The task seemed easy enough for two people who have painted nearly every room in their home. Not so.

Weatherizing your home or structures

Why is it that we think of winterizing our homes but don’t think about how we can do the same things for spring, summer and fall and have some of the same results to our homes and structures?
