Lessons of Home Ownership

We went into the weekend with a very simple home improvement project for Saturday morning in mind. We soon learned Lesson of Homeownership #1: Nothing is ever as easy as it seems. We planned to spend 4 hours and less than $40 to paint the ceiling in our upstairs bathroom. The task seemed easy enough for two people who have painted nearly every room in their home. Not so.

Weatherizing your home or structures

Why is it that we think of winterizing our homes but don’t think about how we can do the same things for spring, summer and fall and have some of the same results to our homes and structures? With energy costs on the rise today, each of the seasons here in the Hastings area are equally important when it comes to making a home or any building as comfortable and as energy efficient as possible.
